For Stéphanie, the number 1 piece of advice is simple: book as early as possible.
Unlike traditional holidays, competition dates are fixed. Therefore, everyone tries to travel around the same time, which can quickly drive up prices and reduce available options.
For groups, booking early can also allow you to block several seats with a deposit, without necessarily having to immediately provide the names of all travelers.
🛂 Passport, documents and insurance: be prepared
A successful trip begins well before departure.
Check the validity of your passport and the documents required for your destination. Stephanie also recommends keeping a digital copy of your passport accessible somewhere other than just your phone.
And above all: don't neglect travel insurance.
Even for just a few days in the United States, a medical emergency can be extremely expensive. If you rely on your credit card insurance, check exactly what it covers, its duration, its limits, and the eligibility requirements.
🎒 The essential cheerleader item: the uniform stays with you
Your checked luggage can get lost. Your competition uniform, however, should never disappear with it!
For a competition trip, keep your essentials in your hand luggage:
competition uniform;
cheerleader shoes;
important documents;
essential medicines;
a few personal items to be able to function for at least one day.
Because arriving at Worlds without your uniform is a stress that nobody needs!
💰 The cheapest ticket isn't always the cheapest
A ticket advertised at a lower price may seem like a good deal… until you add baggage, seat selection and all the restrictions.
For teams and families, it is therefore necessary to compare what is actually included, but also to consider the flexibility offered in case of change.
