Joining Team Canada is a dream for many cheerleading athletes and coaches. But behind the glitter of the international stage, there's a lot of hard work, sacrifice... and a healthy dose of passion ❤️.
🏋️ A high-level commitment
Being selected means accepting an intense pace: demanding training camps, little time to rehearse, and performances to be perfected in record time. The days are long, the rehearsals follow one another, and managing fatigue is a real challenge. Fortunately, the athletes are surrounded by coaches and colleagues to stay mentally at their best.
✈️ The challenges of distance and cost for Team Canada
With members coming from all over the country, logistics are a headache : different schedules, frequent travel, plane tickets, accommodations... And even if the Quebec Federation provides financial support, participating in Team Canada represents a significant investment, in money but also in time and vacation time.
🥇 More than a ranking: a source of pride
Of course, everyone dreams of the podium 🏆, but the primary goal is often to give the best possible performance. Whether it's 5th or 6th place, the important thing is to leave the mat with your head held high, proud of the work accomplished and the level of difficulty reached.
🌎 Be inspired by the best
Countries like Finland, Norway, and Sweden excel thanks to a strong sports culture, massive support for youth sports, and geographic proximity that facilitates training. In Canada, the challenge is to further develop level 7 in clubs so that more athletes arrive ready for the demands of Team Canada.

If the idea of trying your luck is on your mind... Go for it!
💪 Get informed, prepare early, and surround yourself with the right people. Even if it's not for this year, start building your experience now. Perseverance pays off: several athletes who have been reserve players or have failed to qualify have gone on to shine on the world stage.
