Do you think you only represent your club when you step onto the mat? Wrong answer.
In the world of cheerleading, and even more so today with social media, representing your club is a 24/7 job. Whether you're an athlete, parent, or coach, your attitude, actions, and even what you post online can have a direct impact on your entire team.
And the problem is that the negative always moves faster than the positive.
🧥 When you wear the colours, you represent your club
Whether you're an athlete, parent, or coach, one thing needs to be clear: you represent your club at all times. Not just in competition. Not just at the gym. All the time.
The moment you put on a jersey with a logo, the moment you're associated with a team, you become an extension of that organization. And no, you can't say "that doesn't apply to me." It applies to everyone, period.
🌍 Representing your club isn't just about Worlds
Yes, we talk about it a lot during Worlds week, because everything is amplified. But the reality is that it applies 365 days a year.
You could be at a restaurant, at school, on the street… or on your phone. Your behaviour can always be linked to your club. And the higher the level, the greater the impact.
👨👩👧 Parents also represent the club
Big truth: it's not just the athletes.
A parent who misbehaves during competitions, who doesn't respect the rules, or who crosses the line can have a direct impact on the team. In some cases, it can even lead to penalties… or worse.
It's unfortunate, but it's the reality: 👉 your behaviour can affect dozens of athletes around you.
📱 Social media: the # 1 trap
Today, everything moves fast. Very fast.
Negative behaviour, a poorly placed story, an inappropriate comment… it can spread like wildfire in minutes. And guess what? We're not going to say, "Someone did this."
Let's say: 👉 "someone from that club".
And then the whole team, sometimes even the whole club, suffers.
⚠️ A simple rule: think before you act
Before doing or publishing anything, ask yourself just one question:
👉 Could this harm my club?
If the answer is yes… or even maybe… you don't do it.
Because representing your club isn't just about image. It's about respect for:
your teammates
your coaches
the parents
the entire organization
