The best Cheer moments of the 2023-2024 season 🎉 (S1.20 part 1 and 2)

Episode of May 28 and 31, 2024

The 2023-2024 season was full of excitement, surprises, and changes for cheerleading in Quebec and beyond. In episodes 20 and 20B of the Kick's Cheer Podcast , Keaven, Nadia, and Janie took the time to reflect on the year's highlights. Here are the highlights, simply put.

🔥 Moments of intense competition and more challenge.

This season, we felt a return to a real competition. Before, almost every team left with a bid (a qualification), but in 2024, things changed. There were fewer "bids" on offer , and teams had to really fight to earn their place.

Competitions like Celebration and Star Championships have seen their formats change:

  • Some divisions lost a bid.

  • Others have won.

  • And several clubs will have to adjust their strategies for 2025.

💡 Conclusion: Quality now takes precedence over quantity. We no longer go just "to go," we go "to perform."

🌍 The United States is back… and that changes everything!

Important news: The United States now has access to all categories of the World Championships (Worlds) for the 2025 World Championships . For a few years, they were excluded from certain divisions. The result? International teams (like those from Canada) had a better chance of reaching the podium. We'll see what the future holds.

But now, in 2025, it's over. The Americans are coming back in force, and that is going to raise the bar. Canadian gyms are going to have to work harder, but we know they're capable! (Follow the episodes of season 2)

💬 “We’re going to level up in Quebec, no doubt about it!” – Janie

🧮 New regulations: more rigor

Some important changes in the regulations have also been announced for the next season:

  • World teams will need to have a minimum of 16 athletes. This is a big challenge for smaller clubs, which may have to rethink their structure.

  • The end of the Global category as a separate category. This change came as a surprise, especially after all the efforts to integrate it into the Olympic values of cheer.

  • Disappearance of certain very young divisions like the All-Star U6, which become more "Prep" groups, focused on learning rather than performance.

🎥 Less cell phones, more fun in the Fan Zone

A clear message for parents: leave your phones behind in the Fan Zone! Professional videos are posted super quickly after the competitions (thanks to the Kick's team!). So, enjoy the moment, cheer on your child, and make some noise! 💖

📸 “The goal of the Fan Zone is for your child to see you, to hear you, not for you to be hidden behind a screen.”

🥳 A great conclusion to the season

Season 1 of the podcast ends on a festive note:

  • Nadia is going to France to promote the podcast in Europe.

  • New collaborations are being prepared for 2025.

  • And the whole team promises to continue producing content even in the summer, with fun capsules on TikTok and social networks.

“Thank you to everyone who listened, shared, liked… You made this pilot project explode!”

What we remember from 2023-2024

✅ A more competitive season

✅ A return to excellence

✅ Quebec athletes ready to compete with the best

✅ Involved parents (but without cell phones in hand 😄)

✅ And a beautiful cheer community that grows year after year.

To be continued in 2024-2025… because it’s far from over!

Don't forget to rate the podcast, share it, and most importantly... keep making noise in the stands! 💙 🙌
